On page 2V of the Voter's Guide in an article titled, "Nov. 7 vote to decide wide array of offices" the RMN reported that 2 candidates for US House in CO, Rep. Bob Schaffer (R-4th) and Rep. Joel Hefley (R-5th) were running unopposed. In reality Rep. Hefley will be on the ballot with Natural Law Party candidate Randy MacKenzie and Libertarian Kerry Kantor; and Rep. Bob Schaffer is in a 4-way race against Libertarian Kordon Baker, American Constitution Party Candidate Leslie Hanks, and Natural Law Party candidate Dan Sewell Ward.
The RMN not only lied about these races, but in 22 races where the only challenger is a third-party candidate, the paper only listed the main party candidates, in effect telling voters in those districts they only had one choice.
RMN also misrepresented the make-up of Colorado's registered voters by ignoring the 4,000+ registered Libertarians -- showing only the Republican, Democrat, and Unaffiliated voter totals in each Congressional District on page 3V.
Censorship and bias in the Mass Media cannot be tolerated. We cannot take this lying down. It is time for ALL third-party supporters, and all Americans interested in the publishing of truth by the media, to band together and show our outrage. Actions by "news" sources such as this only perpetuate the monopoly the two-parties have within our Government and within our society. The people have a right to know about ALL of their choices, not just those that support the current regime of power.
Please call everyone you know, and pass the word. Every concerned citizen of Colorado needs to be at this protest.
Please notify Michelle Konieczny of the LPCO (303.427.6929 or email: mkonieczny@uswest.net) if you are planning on attending or you know of any other Pro-Liberty/Pro-Journalism Ethics groups in the Colorado who would be interested in joining us.
