A plague on both parties

So Republicans Sen. John Andrews and Mike Rosen want to see our children forced to pledge allegiance to the flag, and they are calling it patriotism. Since when does patriotism come at the passing of a law, and at the point of a gun? Indoctrination is not the same as patriotism. But perhaps even more incredible is that the Democrats are up in arms about this proposed law. What exactly did they think would happen when they stole away our power to educate our children (along with the money to do such) and handed it to the government?

As any Libertarian can tell you, freedom is a package deal; you can't hand over the responsibility to educate your children, and then expect the freedom to make the rules on such. George Orwell would be proud of both the Republicans and Democrats.
